Hitched Tip: Escort Card Versus Place Card

We get this question All. The. Time. What's the difference between an escort card and a place card?

Escort Cards

Escort cards literally escort guests to their table. It's something that's found at the reception entrance that tells guests which table is theirs. There are TONS of different options for an escort card. It can be an individual item with a guest name and table number, one per couple, or a large sign with everyone's name listed.

Place Cards

A place card can be found at each guest's place setting at their respective tables. For weddings with passed, plated meals where guests make a meal selection as part of their RSVP, these are necessary. For buffets, you can typically skip a place card. If you want guests seated at a specific seat at their table, you have place cards.
